Am I A Good Candidate for Cosmetic Surgery?

How to determine if you are a good candidate for cosmetic surgery depends entirely on how much you know, how decisive you are and how you feel emotionally about yourself and the procedure.

An uninformed patient is not a good candidate. Learning the benefits and risks of the procedure you are interested in, before meeting with your surgeon, is very helpful. It allows for you to weigh the costs before the consultation and it helps you come to the meeting with questions and a foundation to build on.

If you are indecisive about what you want, you are not a good candidate for plastic surgery. This type of surgery is a major commitment and should not be performed on someone who has unrealistic goals or is curious how they will look with subtle changes to their body.

When meeting with your surgeon, they will ask a series of questions. The purpose of this questioning is to evaluate whether you are sincerely considering plastic surgery to look and feel healthier or looking for a way out of emotional distress.

The best way to determine if you are a good candidate for plastic surgery is to discuss your thoughts with a plastic surgeon. I meet with every patient for an in-depth, personal consultation. During this consultation I want to understand exactly what you want, which is essential to the whole process.
