A Rhinoplasty is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures in America, with about 200,000 people undergoing the surgery each year. Clients often seek out experienced plastic surgeons to attain an aesthetic, corrective, and/or reconstructive goal.
AM I A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR RHINOPLASTY?
Before electing to have a rhinoplasty, think about whether or not you’re a qualified candidate for the procedure.
Ideal candidates for rhinoplasty may have any of the following:
A large nose
A long nose, or a plunging or drooping nasal tip
A large hump on the nasal bridge
A wide, thick, ill-defined or bulbous nasal tip
An excessively wide nose
Excessively flared nostrils
Breathing problems
In addition, an ideal rhinoplasty candidate needs to be:
13 years of age or older
Have goals for the improvement of appearance that are specific and realistic
Physically and mentally healthy
Dr. Bellin has performed numerous rhinoplasties that have met the ideal needs of each patient with the above conditions. In conjunction with a rhinoplasty, Dr. Bellin also offers a septoplasty to amend any breathing complications due to obstruction of the nasal passage. In addition to the rhinoplasty, many clients have also opted for a chin augmentation to compliment the aesthetic results of their nose procedure.
Regardless of the options or the procedures you opt for, Dr. Bellin only utilizes the best practices to ensure the perfect results. To view some photos of Dr. Bellin’s work, please visit his before and after client gallery.
RHINOPLASTY TECHNIQUES
There are two types of industry techniques used to perform a rhinoplasty; closed and open.
Closed Rhinoplasty –Dr. Bellin makes incisions inside the nose through which cartilage and bone are reduced, sculpted and repositioned to improve contours. With reconstructive or secondary rhinoplasty, grafts of cartilage may be used to improve poor results from a previous surgery.
Open rhinoplasty –An incision is made in the space between the two nostrils and the skin is lifted back to reveal the layer cartilage and nasal tissue. The surgeon can then see how to make the appropriate alterations to the nose.Although open rhinoplasty is a widely accepted technique, Dr. Bellin typically avoids this type of procedure. He believes that open rhinoplasty produces less satisfactory results and increases the recovery period.
Dr. Bellin evaluates each client on a case by case basis and determines the appropriate technique to deliver the best results.
